Disobedient Clothes (Ongoing)
This project is still in an early development stage. It seeks to reverse the role generally attributed to wearable technologies: what if, instead of making our lives “easier,” smart clothes made us – not physically, but emotionally– uncomfortable? I believe uncomfortable situations – like having a difficult conversation or quitting an unhealthy habit– can result in self-questioning and spark introspective journeys within ourselves.

Throughout my Textile and Fashion Design studies, I have made many experiments incorporating electronics into garments; two of them being early prototypes resulting of my interest in “disobedient” clothes: a sweater that gave electric shocks to its wearer and a shirt with electromagnetic buttons that could be opened by whoever had the switch.
These are the early prototypes of the Disobedient Shirt.
