Itala Aguilera is a visual artist born and raised in Mexico City and based in New York City where she works as a teacher at the Textile Arts Center and as a costume designer for independent films. Since 2022 she is part of the artist collective Flux Factory.

 

Her work has been shown in art spaces in Mexico (Islera, El Arenero, Zona Maco), New York (Flux Factory on Governors Island, LaMaMa Galleria, Textile Arts Center), Portland (Carnation Contemporary), Berlin (Forecast Forum 8) among others. 

 

This year, Itala was awarded a NYSCA grant sponsored by Flux Factory.
